Dear Jordan,
I am learning about China. Did you know that I learned that the location of China is in eastern Asia. Most of China’s cities are along the east coast. The land there is low and flat.
The Chinese write with characters or symbols instead of letters. More than one billon people live there. Mandarin is China’s official language.
Many Chinese work in factories or in the shipping business. People also work on farms. Giant ships sail into China’s ports bringing machines, cloth, chemicals and grains. These things go to China’s factories where they make clothing, shoes, toys, and electronics. They ship these products to other countries.
Most of China’s cities are along the east coast. The land there is low and flat. The cities have apartments with two small rooms. It is crowded in China. Cities have electricity.
Village houses are made out of stone, brick and concrete. They are larger than city apartments. They cook wit straw and wood and they heat with straw and wood too.

Most of China’s cities are along the east coast. The land is low and flat.
There are more than one billion people that live there. Mandarin is China’s offical language.The Chinese write with charcters or symbols,instead of letters.
Most Chinese people work on farms. Chinese people may work in factories or at shipping docks loading or unloading the ships.
In China the calender follows the moon’s cycles. When people celebrate holiday they have fireworks and dragon dances in the streets. The Chinese have beautiful writing called calligraphy. They have also been making silk thread from silk worms. They spin the thread into beautiful silk cloth. Life in China is different. Some people live in apartments. Some houses are bigger than tall apartments.
The people in China don’t have electricity so they use oil lamps that give some light. The people cook with wood and straw and to have heat they use wood and straw. They eat fresh foods that are low and fat. Also they use chopsticks to eat their food. Some people eat rice at all the meals. Chinese like squash, peaches and bananas and also leafy green vegetables.
